I Am the Door of the sheep
Whoever enters through Me shall be saved.
Jesus said, “Truly, truly I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.” (John 10:7)
“I am the door. Whoever enters through me shall be saved and shall go in and out and find pasture.” (John 10:9)

In the Old Testament, God lived among His people in the inner place of the tabernacle that was set apart by a huge, impenetrable veil, “You shall make a veil of blue, purple and scarlet material... the work of a skillful workman.” (Exodus 26:31) Only the high priest could enter behind the veil once a year with an offering of blood for himself and the sins of the people. (Hebrews 9:7)
The prophet Isaiah foretold the removal of this veil between God and the people, “And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples, even the veil which is stretched over all nations.” (Isaiah 25:7)
Then... “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14) At Jesus’ crucifixion, “at about noon, darkness fell over the whole land until 3:00 p.m., because the sun was obscured; and the veil of the temple was torn in two.” (Luke 23:44-45)
“Jesus entered the holy place once for all having obtained eternal redemption for us by His own blood.” (Hebrews 9:12) “Therefore… since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh... let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith...” (Hebrews 10:19-22)
“This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which God carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.” (Ephesians 3:11-12)
“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

I created this Art Card similarly to the I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life Art Card when I designed and cut out the "DOOR" letters from watercolor paper I had painted with a violet wash. The "I" is part of the door as the "Am" comes through the door into pastures that become bright green in His light where the sheep find nourishment!
