The Bridegroom and the Sun
Psalm 19

In the heavens God has placed a tent for the sun,
which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber.
It rejoices as a strong man to run his course.
Its rising is from one end of the heavens,
And its circuit to the other end of them,
And there is nothing hidden from its heat.
(Psalm 19:4b-6)
Abraham’s son, Isaac, entered his mother’s tent to consummate his marriage with Rebekah.
(Genesis 24:67)
Just like the sun rising over the horizon, Isaac emerged from his mother’s tent – bold, strong, and accomplished. He arose from his first act of greatest courage – taking faithful ownership and responsibility for the life of his precious female counterpart.
The initiation and sealing of Isaac’s commitment to Rebekah brought him to the pinnacle of strength – to love, honor and nourish her for the rest of his life. His glory would be strengthened by her love. He was ready to run the course God had purposed for him! His rising would bring light to the world!
Our Bridegroom1, Yeshua haMashiach (Jesus Messiah), initiated His love to us, His bride, when He came to earth to woo us to Himself. He sealed His covenant with us by His blood, shed for the forgiveness of our sins.2 His blood removed the barrier to our shared love3 and presented us as a pure bride.4
He emerged victorious from the grave to love and nourish us forever. He delights in our love5 and leads us in His triumph!6
He also sealed us in Himself with Ruach HaKodesh, the Holy Spirit of promise Whom he gave to us as a pledge. This pledge guarantees our inheritance in Him until our full redemption.7
He is the Risen Lord and the Light of the World! Nothing is hidden from His Light!
And now we run our course united with Him in His purposes8 fixing our eyes on our Bridegroom Yeshua, the One Who authors and completes our faith.9 We arise strong and bold, fixing our hope completely on the grace He will bring to us10 when we see Him coming in the clouds11 to take us home12 to His marriage supper – the marriage supper of the Lamb!13
