The Israelites’ deliverance from judgment at Passover by the blood of spotless lambs foreshadows our deliverance from judgment through the blood of the Passover Lamb, Yeshua the Messiah.
In the judgment, He passes over us.
The Israelites’ subsequent deliverance out of the enemy’s control through the Red Sea foreshadows our deliverance out of the enemy’s control through Yeshua’s sacrifice on our behalf and the Father’s gift of our new birth in the Holy Spirit.
We have passed through the waters of forgiveness into freedom!
Passover is a time to reflect upon this great and costly deliverance! Our awareness of the depth of our sin and the enemy’s prior mastery over us1 is commensurate to the depth of our praise and gratitude to God2. The Apostle Paul wrote:
Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump just as you are unleavened for Messiah our Passover has been sacrificed. Therefore, let us celebrate the Feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.3
Although we remember our deliverance from our past blindness without Him, we need not revisit past sins. Yeshua endured a horrific execution to pay for and take away our sins. “He endured the cross, despising the shame…”4 He took on our shame. He was rejected and disgraced in our place.5 We are accepted in the beloved!6 Father may draw us into repentance, but once we “confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”7
After Moses and the sons of Israel were delivered from the enemy through the Red Sea, they sang8:
I will sing to the Lord for He is highly exalted!
The horse and its rider He has hurled into the sea!
The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation!
This is my God9, and I will praise Him,
My father’s God10, and I will exalt Him.
The Lord is a warrior;
The Lord is His name!
The Lord delivers us through the waters, washes us, and sets us on a rock making our footsteps firm. Our journey is from glory to glory, from clarity to more clarity. Only greater light awaits us as we let His Spirit live in us! “The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn that shines brighter and brighter until the full day!”11
Happy Passover! Happy Resurrection!

Welcome to Shale Fragments, a collection of writings and art for individual and group use!
Teaching God’s truth and the beauty of His Word is my greatest delight! My art card company, Flower Girl Greetings, was launched in 2012 with this purpose. In April 2020, ShaleFragments.com became the gathering place for the writings.
As I have studied the rich meanings of the original Greek and Hebrew languages of the Bible, I continue to see beautiful progressions and connections that compel me to organize and convey their life-changing beauty!
