He rescued me because He delights in me!

This verse is past and present.
God rescued me, and He continues to delight in me and I in Him!

There is nothing narrow about following Jesus Christ. The word narrow is used in two passages in the New Testament (Matthew 7:13-14 and Luke 13:24) when Jesus said that narrow is the way that leads to life. The way to the wide-open space is narrow, because there is only one gate, one door. Jesus said, I am the Door. Whoever enters in by Me shall be saved and shall go in and out and find pasture.  John 10:9

Once in the pasture, the feeding is rich, full and life-giving.

The Psalmist David wrote, The Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside the still waters; He restores my soul. Psalm 23:1-3

God invites us to enter into rest and freedom!
