The End Times – Yeshua’s Words to Remember
An Organization of Matthew 24-25, Mark 13, and Luke 21

As you may have noticed from my last writing A Distant Grief / An Abiding Joy, I have been asking Father, “How shall I live in light of the unthinkable current events?” If we are in the throws of the end of time or not, we should heed the words of the One Who died, rose, and ascended to heaven on our behalf, even Yeshua1 our Lord. Every word that fell from His lips is crystal clear – truth, purity, and beauty. His words will guide us.

So last week, the Lord led me to read Matthew 24-25, Mark 13, and Luke 21 – the accounts of Yeshua’s words about the last days. Some words in these chapters pertain to the destruction of the Temple and some pertain to the events surrounding His return. Just as with the words from the book of Revelation, although we might not recognize the meaning of them now, if we saturate ourselves in them, there will be a day when we say, “So, that is what my Savior meant when He said that! That is why He told us!”

I extracted Yeshua’s words from the Gospel accounts to embed in my heart and mind to be alert and ready. The words from Matthew are in black type; the words from Mark are in crimson type (if different from Matthew); and the words from Luke are in green type (if different that Matthew and Mark). I use the word kedoshim for God’s people. It is the Hebrew word for chosen ones, saints, holy ones, God’s people, all those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Messiah is transliterated from the Hebrew Machiach and means Anointed One. Christ is Greek for Messiah.

Hear the words of Yeshua –

  • Do not be misled.

  • Many will say they are Messiah in My name.False Messiah’s will show great signs and wonders to deceive even the kedoshim.

  • You will hear of wars, famines, earthquakes, plagues. Do not be frightened; these must take place.

  • The kedoshim will be delivered to tribulation, killed, hated, will stand before governors, courts, be arrested, and imprisoned.

  • The Lord will give you the words you need at that hour; it will not be you but the Holy Spirit. It will be an opportunity for your testimony. Preparation is not needed.

  • Many will fall away during this time (the Greek word for fall away also means stumble or be trapped).

  • Many will deliver up one another and hate one another. Family members will be against each other. Not a hair of your head will perish.

  • Many false prophets will arise and mislead may.

  • Lawlessness will increase.

  • Love will grow cold. (There will be a lack of mercy.)

  • The one who endures will be saved.

  • The Gospel must be preached to the whole world.

  • Do not turn back to get stuff.

  • If someone tells you they have seen Jesus, do not believe them, because when He returns, everyone will see Him. His return will be like lightning flashing from one end of the sky to the other. (See also Revelation 1:7)

  • He will come in the clouds. (See also Revelation 1:7; Acts 1:11; Daniel 7:13)

  • The sun and moon will be darkened, the stars will fall, the heavens will be shaken. There will be terrors and signs in the heavens and dismay among the nations in perplexity at the roaring of the sea. Men will faint from fear of the expectation of what is coming.

  • He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet to gather the kedoshim. Straighten up, lift up your heads for your redemption is near!

  • Be alert and ready. He is coming when you do not think He will.

  • Be on your guard that your hearts are not weighted down with hangovers (dissipation) and drunkenness and the worries of life, so the day does not come upon you suddenly like a trap.2

From the parables that follow these passages:

  • The five wise virgins did not give their oil to the five foolish virgins.
  • Matthew 25:40 seems to imply that we are to always give to the needs of the kedoshim.

Father, let Your words dwell richly in our hearts!3  Draw near to us as we draw near to You!4  Prepare us for Your glorious return!

1  Yeshua haMashiach is Hebrew for Jesus the Messiah. He would have been called Yeshua while He walked on the earth. Yeshua is the pronunciation of four Hebrew letters. The explanations of where the name Jesus came from are varied. Whatever name you choose, I am sure when you pray to Him, the Father knows exactly who you are addressing! I think the most important thing to consider is who you are talking to about Him. Jewish Christians insist on using Yeshua since it reflects His Jewishness. However, some people have never heard the name Yeshua and would not know who you were talking about. Love for others should be our guide!

2 Strengthen your heart, mind, and bodies. Pare down so that you are not encumbered. Hebrews 12:1 exhorts us to lay aside every encumbrance and the sin that easily entangles us so we can run the race before us.

3 Colossians 3:16

4 James 4:8

Welcome to Shale Fragments, a collection of writings and art for individual and group use!

Teaching God’s truth and the beauty of His Word is my greatest delight! My art card company, Flower Girl Greetings, was launched in 2012 with this purpose. In April 2020, ShaleFragments.com became the gathering place for the writings.

As I have studied the rich meanings of the original Greek and Hebrew languages of the Bible, I continue to see beautiful progressions and connections that compel me to organize and convey their life-changing beauty!
