The original artwork for this greeting card was created by painting tissue and tracing paper with watercolors, tearing the paper into shapes, brushing them with a clear acrylic medium, and overlapping them to build texture and depth.

I created the original artwork for High mercy with my mother who wanted to teach me how to layer the tissue with the special glue. What fun we had as we watched the colors come through the other colors to create new ones! I created the steel blue letters with a pointed brush separately. Since the texture of the tissue was so bumpy, I superimposed the brush letters onto the art in the card file for the printer.
