November – I am Holy

­­And they will call them, “The holy people, the redeemed of the Lord.” Isaiah 62:12a

The heavens shall praise Your wonders, O Lord; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones. Psalm 89:5

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Colossians 3:12-13

The Who I Am Journal Collection was designed to encourage reflection on the Lord’s truth each month. Each Art Card includes watercolor art, brush lettering, memory verses, Hebrew letters, a devotional, space to write personal reflections year after year, and envelopes.

When we receive Jesus the Messiah, our Father God brings us into an eternal, intimate, covenant relationship with Himself by the Holy Spirit. He gives us names that describe our identity as those who have been born again into His family. They remain constant even though the clouds of our feelings, circumstances, weakness, grief, failure, and emotions may hide their reality. We have this hope as an anchor of our souls, a hope both sure and steadfast...(Hebrews 6:19)

I am Holy.

When we received Jesus Christ, the Lord took away our sin and clothed us with His holiness.

The Hebrew word for God’s people is the kedoshim, which means holy ones, saints, set-apart ones. This special family is reserved for all who receive Him. We are holy, because He is holy, and He is in us. When we were born again, He created a new creation in holiness.

To be holy is to possess a clear distinctness, a contrasting purity, not secluded from evil, but pure and striking in the midst of it.

The Corinthian believers had many serious sin issues; however, Paul did not address them as sinners, but as the holy ones – their new name. (1 Corinthians 1:2) He used the word sinner to describe them before they were clothed in Christ.

Paul encouraged them to walk in ways that reflected their new name and the enabling of the Holy Spirit. Sin is simply behavior that does not reflect God’s ways of love. The book of 1st John teaches that although we may still sin, we have a new desire not to sin.

In November, the last leaves cling to the storm-blown trees against the cold dark skies – a symbol of our vibrance and difference in the world.

Lord, wrap me in Your warm, holy light! I am Yours!
