Lloyal was Not Forsaken—A Tribute

Dear family,

Within the Portrait Art Card Collection, Flower Girl Greetings spans the ages. The original artwork for the Lloyal Art Card was given to my friend, Brenda, for her birthday.

The card was painted with watercolor from a photograph of her father whose name was Lloyal. (See the Art Card at the end of this post.) Mr. Lloyal Burkey inspired me with his loyalty to the Lord Jesus Christ over many years and his passion for his Lord’s love letter, the Bible. He read the Bible through every year of his life. This card was a tribute to his life. I penned Psalm 119:105 over the pages of his Bible, “Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Lloyal passed away into the arms of His Lover and Creator this past November at the age of 95. In the memorial of his life, it was written, “Lloyal was a man of integrity living his faith consistently and demonstrating godly character with a kind and generous heart.” and “Lloyal loved to sing with his family. He enjoyed farming and caring for his livestock. He also enjoyed birds of all kinds, especially canaries, and raised them for many years.”  Surely the Lord remembers all the details and tender kindnesses of Lloyal’s life. That’s how our Lord is. He lovingly remembers our lives.

We have had testimonials sent to us of how this card has been used to inspire older, as well as younger people, to be faithful to the Lord until the end, because the rewards are great and satisfying!  The lives of older people encourage and bless the younger ones.

Flower Girl Greetings’ Not forsaken Art Card (created with charcoal) is also found in the Portrait Collection. It includes Psalm 37:25 on the front and back – “I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken.”
