The Feast of Tabernacles
He is with you! 

The Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot falls on the full moon of the 7th Hebrew month Tishrei in the fall. This year, this Feast begins at sundown on October 2 and lasts through October 10. It is a week of celebration and thanksgiving!

During this week of The Feast of Tabernacles,

Israelites live in temporary booths or tabernacles called sukkot to remember the Lord’s provision during their 40-year journey through the wilderness. When they look up through their sukkot into the sky, they remember how they learned to completely depend on God’s every word as they lived in their temporary structures in the wilderness. (Deuteronomy 8:2-3)

They waved the lulav (a cluster of palm, willow and myrtle branches with an Etrog fruit) to praise God for all His gifts and His goodness! You can see these clusters on the art card at the end of this post.

Jesus’ beloved disciple John wrote, “And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14) Jesus is our Tabernacle, our Dwelling Place, and He makes His home in us! (John 14:23)

The Jewish Feast of Tabernacles foreshadowed the life of Jesus the Messiah, the Anointed One, the Christ! His dwelling among men will be culminated in the new heaven and the new earth spoken of in Revelation 21:1-6:
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.
