Reasons and Tips for Hanging Your Laundry Outside

I have lived in apartments, duplexes, and now a home, and have always tried to get some laundry hanging in the fresh breeze!

Reasons

• The task provides a quiet reflective unhurried escape that renews your mind!
• You are surrounded by flowers and a fresh breeze!
• The laundry dries quickly.
• The laundry smells wonderful!!!
• The breeze irons out wrinkles.
• The sun removes stains and disinfects.
• You save on your heating bill.

Tips

• Tumble the laundry in your dryer for three minutes first.
• Use a retractable clothesline, so you don’t have to clean it.
• Hang your line where there are no trees above.
• Hang personal items on a rack out of view.
• Plan laundry on sunny days.
• Turn dark clothes inside-out to prevent fading.
• Hang shirts from the bottom.
• Shake items before folding.
• Place sheets and blankets back in the dryer for a few minutes to remove more lint.
